Senior Portrait Contest

I have been very busy meeting with new clients and booking weddings. Time just seems to fly by and I haven't had a chance to update my blog. So with spring approaching I thought it would be a good time to have a contest. I thought an update to my website was in order so I changed my senior portrait page around and added a drawing for a free senior portrait session for the class of 2008. I also thought I would give a 25% discount if friends book thier sessions together. Here is the link to view the changes and enter the contest http://www.savingyourmemories.com/senior_portraits.html
I will draw a random name on April 30, 2007. Good luck to everyone who enters. And don't forget to book your senior session while there are time slots still available.

Planning enough time for your wedding photos

How long will your pictures take and did you leave enough time between your ceremony and reception?

I thought I would share a little info on planning your wedding day so that you might be able to plan your day accordingly and make sure you remembered to allow time for everything you want to do on your special day.

Here are a few things to consider and make note of while making your plans.

First find out about how long your ceremony will last. Do you plan to have a greeting line after the ceremony... these can take a little time for everyone to get through plan at least 45min for a small wedding (around 100 people). What is the church's rules on photography? If they don't allow pictures during the ceremony you will need to plan extra photo time inorder to recreate the scene for the ceremony photos. Allow about 45min for the formal photos after the ceremony (if you have a large amount of formals you wish to have taken you may need to allow a little more time). This time may also be shortened if you have some of the pictures taken before the ceremony. If you plan to take photos at a location besides the church you should allow adequate time for everyone to get there and be ready. Knowing a good timeline for these things will help you to know what time you should start your reception.

It is a good idea to give a list of the formal photos you would like to have to your photographer proir to your wedding date so she/he will know what you want taken. This helps the formal pictures to go smooth and will help to ensure if there are some special people you want in the picture no one will be missed.

I hope that this will be useful to you in planning out your wedding day.
